threadbare simulates the breakdown of a system exposed to a foreign object. The quartet opens with a series of repeated chords. Within each of these chords exists an errant note that momentarily deviates from the harmony. This minor disturbance, almost imperceptible at first, reverberates through the structure, triggering a chain reaction that causes the whole system to collapse.
